5 Things to Do in Chicago
Chicago is a magnificent city to visit, with plenty of fun things to do. Whether you live here or are a visiting tourist, you will enjoy the vast array of stuff to do. These are five fun things to do in Chicago, and they come highly recommended by others who have been before you.
Adler Planetarium
This popular destination is an excellent resource for astrologists and scientists around the world, but to the general public, it is both fun and educational at once. The museum itself has quite a bit to offer, but the Sky Theater is the real attraction here, offering time travel experiences in the form of virtual reality trips.
Brookfield Zoo
This fantastic zoo sits on 216 acres and keeps about 450 different species of animals. You can see some amphibians and reptiles, big cats, dolphins, polar bears, and much more. Also, you can save a dollar on the entry fee by ordering your tickets online ahead of time.
Grant Park
Grant Park sits on 319 acres of lakefront splendor. Inside the park, you can see city landmarks like the Buckingham Fountain and the Millennium Park. The Art Institute can also be found here. Additionally, various festivals and celebrations take place on this property, including the annual Taste of Chicago.
360 Chicago
Found on the 94th floor of the 100-story John Hancock Center building, 360 Chicago is an observatory offering a unique view of the city and of Lake Michigan. On a clear day, visitors can see across the borders of four states up to 55 miles away. In 2014, the TILT attraction was added to the observatory deck. For a fee, visitors have a chance to step out on a glass floor and glass-walled area that tilts out at a 30 degree angle for a view of the city unlike any other.
Navy Pier
Navy Pier is a hot tourist spot as well as a local favorite. As the name suggests, the pier sits on the water, and offers quite a bit of fun activities all in one place. The IMAX cinema can be found there, boat tours can be taken, and there is an 18 mini-golf course. If that is not enough, take a ride on the ferris wheel lifting passengers 150 feet off the ground.
These five things are just ideas for where to start. Check them out when you visit Chicago and if you still need more to do, there is plenty else to see. Chicago offers much for both visitors and locals to stay busy on their days out. Try it and have fun!
