Going to the beach is a favorite summer activity of many people. It’s relaxing, entertaining, and an excellent way to cool off on a hot day. Glass dropped into the ocean becomes sea glass. After extended periods of time tumbling in the water, some pieces will wash up onto the shore. These pieces will have smooth edges and a frosty finish. They come in many different colors and are perfect for collecting. Try accumulating some every time you go to the beach, then separate the different colors in jars and display them in your home!
Search for wildlife.
It’s no surprise that beaches are teeming with all sorts of creatures. At the beach, you get a combination of both land-dwelling and sea-dwelling animals, plus everything in between. Crabs, fish, and birds are quite easy to find and come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors. With a touch of luck, you may even be able to spot dolphins or whales, making your beach trip one to remember.
Take a stroll down the shoreline.
There are so many interesting things to discover that people often miss them when they spend the day camped out in one spot. Walk as far as you can, making sure to scope out interesting shells, rocks, people, and animals along the way. If you come to a very rocky area, look out for tide pools, which are often the homes of many interesting critters. Walking down the beach is an excellent opportunity to sight see as well as get a great workout and an even tan all at once.
Try eating at a new restaurant.
Most beaches are in proximity to a wealth of interesting places with great food and distinctive atmospheres. If you’re not sure where to start, do an internet search for the type of restaurant you want to eat near the beach you plan to go. That way, you can read reviews, so there are no unpleasant surprises when it comes to the food, the service, or the prices. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, wing it and choose a place that looks good to you. It might just become your brand-new favorite place!
Take a look at local shops, venues, events, and performers. The beach is a pretty exciting place, and there’s always something going on. Walk down to any area with shops, booths, or restaurants near the beach. You’re bound to discover something that catches your eye. You may even see a few street performers! It’ll also make for an excellent opportunity to pick up a souvenir or grab a cold drink.
